About me
Angela Foglia is a forward-thinking IT leader and technology strategist with over 15 years of experience driving enterprise-wide digital transformation and optimizing IT operations. Her expertise spans IT governance, risk management, cloud infrastructures, and compliance—key themes at the heart of today’s technological evolution.
Back in 2017, while working on the complex separation of Alcoa into two companies, she faced the challenge of ‘cloning’ an entire technical R&D environment. This pivotal experience revealed a market need for secure, intermittent data transmission—a gap Angela addressed by founding secure-transmit. Today, secure-transmit provides an easy, secure way for anyone and any business to safely and efficiently transfer proprietary and/or sensitive data while meeting rigorous compliance standards.
As Divisional CIO for Howmet Aerospace’s $1B Engineered Structures business, Angela led IT strategies across 16 global locations, managed a $9M budget, and directed a team of 35+ professionals. Ensuring the alignment of technological solutions to complex business objectives, she has successfully delivered high-impact projects, including divestiture management, multi-cloud migrations, SAP upgrades, and smart manufacturing initiatives, achieving measurable cost reductions and enhanced system security.
Angela is passionate about bridging the gap between technology and business. She loves solving big challenges and has earned recognition as one of the Top 50 Women Leaders in Technology for 2024 and the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s 2020 CIO Rising Star of the Year. As a speaker and moderator at industry events, she shares her insights on compliance, data governance, digital transformation, and driving innovation in IT practices.
Angela holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh, where she volunteers at the Pitt Career Center coaching emerging tech professionals. She actively contributes to organizations like the Pittsburgh Technology Council and WELD, championing diversity, inclusion, and mentorship in the tech industry.
